1994 Acura NSX

1994 Acura NSX

This car shown here is truly a special example of the 1994 Acura NSX (first generation NA1). Finished in a very rare paint shade known as ‘Brooklands Green Pearl’ over a tan leather interior. After the conceptual stage of development, which you can read in detail about on our page, @rarecarsonly, a design team led by Chief Designer Masahito Nakano and Executive Chief Engineer Shigeru Uehara, worked together to development what would later become the NSX. Toward the final stages of development, the legendary formula one racing driver, Ayrton Senna, also reportedly gave input into the design process. The NSX was manufactured by the Honda Motor Company, thus being named the Honda NSX, however, for the North American market, the NSX was marketed under the Acura brand, which is the luxury vehicle division of Honda. The NSX is powered by an all-aluminium 3.0 L V6 engine which featured Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control which improved the engines volumetric efficiency, and allows this car to produce just about 270hp. Notably, the NSX was also the worlds first mass-produced car to feature an all-aluminum body, after it was presented for the first time ever at the 1989 Chicago Auto Show. The NSX has since been produced across two generations, and a wide variety of different variants, overall becoming a truly iconic sports car overall. This unique car was part of an incredible exhibit at the 2022 @nyautoshow from the @saratogaautomuseum!

How many made? Only approximately 8,949 examples of the NA1/NA2 first-generation Honda/Acura NSX were constructed for the North American market. Of that number, just around 513 examples were said to have been constructed for the 1994 model year. Only around 264 NSX examples of the total production were finished in this unique green color, and just around 214 of those being fitted with a tan leather interior.
