This is the 2010 Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale Zagato, chassis number 1B3AZ6JZ0AV100129. This particular example of the TZ3 Zagato is believed to be the 9th car built out of just 9 total for the world, and is finished in an eye catching shade of light blue known as ‘Azzurro California’ over a white leather interior with blue stitching. The TZ3 Stradale model was built by Fiat Group Automobiles and was designed by Zagato stylist Norihiko Harada in order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Alfa Romeo road cars. It's design pays homage to some of Alfa Romeo's most famous road-going cars, such as the early Alfa Romeo TZ models, with their double-bubble roofs and ‘coda tronca’ tails. The TZ3 Stradale borrowed the architecture, the 8.4-litre V10 engine and the six-speed manual transmission of the fantastic Dodge Viper ACR-X. The design team between Zagato and Alfa Romeo did a great job of disguising the carbon-fiber body to pay tribute to the older Tubolare Zagato or TZ models. The easiest way to tell the TZ3 Zagato used Viper underpinnings is the retainment of the side-mounted exhaust tips and the very long hood in order to squeeze the 8.4L Viper V-10 engine. Inside the cabin, you’ll find an interior that remains very similar to the donor Viper, however, all of the Viper and Dodge badging has of course been replaced with Alfa Romeo’s iconic emblems. The TZ3 Stradale uses brake disks by StopTech and brake calipers by Brembo. On top of the 9 Stradale examples produced, one ‘Corsa’ model was also built, a track variation of the TZ3 Stradale. The Corsa remained to be a one-off, and was built based on the Gillet Vertigo.5 for a German collector named Martin Kapp. The Corsa model was first shown at the 2010 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in Italy where it also won the show that year.
