This car is simply not discussed often enough, and today I’m changing that. Here is all there is to know about the ultra-rare & mysterious 2017 Alfa Romeo Disco Volante. This car is number 6 of just 8 ‘Disco Volante’ models built finished in a one-off blue color knows as 'Blu Largo' which is an adaptation of Ferrari's 'Tour De France Blu'. The modernized Disco Volante is inspired by the original Alfa Romeo 1900 C52 ‘Disco Volante’ which was built from 1952–1953 in collaboration with Milanese coachbuilder Carrozzeria Touring. Touring’s new ‘Disco Volante’ is based on the already exclusive Alfa Romeo 8C chassis. After receiving a donor 8C chassis, converting the car into ‘Disco Volante’ form takes reportedly ofer 6,000 hours of hard work and precision to complete. Car number 6 (pictured here) was recently just sold by @jamesokane_ / @okanelavers & is the only ever Disco Volante example to feature bespoke wood work, making it a true ‘Road Yacht’. The interior of this masterpiece is finished with a mixture of beige and blue leather with red stitching & a dark blue steering wheel. The wood trim featured on this one-off Disco Volante is ‘light yard venner’. The design for both the Disco Volante coupe & spyder can be credited to Louis de Fabribecker, who is head of design at Carrozzeria Touring. The mechanics from the donor 8C remain unchanged, leaving the Disco Volante to perform rather similarly overall. This car comes fitted with matching luggage, and a futuristic design that will ensure you have a lavish grand touring experience in your one-off Disco Volante!
