This car shown here is a stunning 1994 Bugatti EB110 Supersport (39012), finished in ‘Grigio Chiaro Metallizato’ over a black leather interior, the same way it was delivered new in March of 1994 by Auto Konig. This example was first delivered to Germany, and then spent some time in Japan before making it’s way to Switzerland in 2012. In 2022, @goodingandcompany sold this example during their Pebble Beach Auction sale. Early discussions from four prominent men in the automotive industry took place consisting of Italian industrialist, Ferruccio Lamborghini, French financial director, Jean-Marc Borel, Italian mechanical engineer and automotive designer, Paolo Stanzani, and Italian entrepreneur, Romano Artioli with a primary goal of developing a new BUgatti supercar in a limited production fashion. In 1987, Artioli and Borel had reached a deal with Messier-Hispano-Bugatti in order to acquire the Bugatti name, and thus, Bugatti Automobili S.p.A. was created. Chassis development began with work being handled by Tecnostile, which was a company formed by ex-Lamborghini, and subsequently, multiple designers were asked to submit proposals for what would later become the ‘EB110’ Supercar including Paolo Martin, Giorgetto Giugiaro, Nuccio Bertone and Marcello Gandini. Stanzani was replaced in 1990 by Italian mechanical engineer, Nicola Materazzi, as the projects new Production Chief Engineer. The production EB110 GT was finally completed, exactly 110 years after Ettore Bugatti's birth, in 1991. The SS variant of the EB110 (shown here) serves as a more radical version of the EB110 GT, and the main changes from the GT to the SS include more a more powerful engine, new exterior details such as a fixed air wing, and an overall lightening of the model as a whole. The SS was only produced from 1993 until 1995.
