2010 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

2010 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

This car shown here is 1 of just around 406 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 examples finished in black for the 2010 model year of just 1,577 total built that year! This 2010 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 coupe is 1 of 4,695 ZR1 examples to roll off the production line over the course of 5 years. This 2010 ZR1 is considered part of the 6th generation (C6) of the Corvette model (June 2004–February 28, 2013). The C6 Corvette is the first Corvette with exposed headlamps since the Chevrolet Corvette (C1) of 1962, and the design is credited to the former Director of Design for the GM Performance Car Studio, Tom Peters. In comparison to the previous C5 generation Corvette, the C6 model features brand new bodywork, a revised suspension, and a wide variety of new enhancements both cosmetically and mechanically. As for the ZR1 model in particular, this high-performance model was introduced for the 2009 model year, and was only produced until 2013. In total, Chevrolet offered 16 different colors for the C6 ZR1 model, however, only 3 of those colors (Cyber Gray, Blade Silver, and Velocity Yellow) lasted through all 5 years of production. The C6 ZR1 was the first ever factory-supercharged Corvette model, and was developed secretly under the code name “Blue Devil”. Perhaps the most significant design element of the C6 is the polycarbonate window on the hood which showcases the car’s 638hp supercharged V8. The ZR1 also features the largest factory wheels ever fitted to a Corvette and also, the model is equipped with ceramic carbon brakes.
