1974 Ferrari 365 GTB/4

1974 Ferrari 365 GTB/4

This car shown here is in an echelon of it’s own in terms of rarity, and special configurations, this is the one-off 1974 Ferrari 365 GTB/4, chassis no. 17019, engine 251 no. 2916. This extremely unique example was originally delivered in January of 1974 to the importer Charles Pozzi S.A in Levallois-Perret, and of the approximately 1,284 examples of the 365 GTB/4 Daytona developed from 1968-1973, just 8 total examples are said to have been finished from the factory in this exclusive color shown here known as ‘Verde Medio Metallizzato’. Of those 8 total cars finished in this striking color, only 1 of them was optioned with a ‘Testa di Morro’ VM 890 leather interior, which is essentially brown leather Daytona seats with black stripes. In February of 2017, this example received its Ferrari Classiche certificate, ensuring that all of the parts, colors, engine numbers, and other bits were all original. The 365 GTB/4 model in general is a distinguished model amongst Ferrari aficionados and automotive enthusiasts around the world. The model was introduced for the first time ever during the 1968 Paris Auto Salon as a replacement to Ferrari’s 275 GTB/4 model. The ‘Daytona’ earned it’s nickname over the years as a homage to Ferrari's 1-2-3 finish in February of 1967 at the 24 Hours of Daytona, however, this is not actually an official given to the model by Ferrari. The 365 Daytona was available for sale via either a ‘Berlinetta’ or ‘Spyder’ configuration (365 GTB/4 and GTS/4), and Italian automobile designer and CEO of Fioravanti Srl, Leonardo Fioravanti was the stylist responsible for the design work. Being that this car is a 1974 model, it’s clearly equipped with the classic retractable pop-up twin headlights, an update that came in 1971 due to new U.S. safety regulations at the time.

How many made? This car is one-of-a-kind, however, Ferrari produced 1,406 Daytonas across all variations of the model
