This exceptionally rare car shown here is a 1986 Ferrari 328 GTS (Type F106) chassis number 61859. The speciality behind this car is it’s ‘Prugna Metallizzato’ paint work with wheels painted to match, and it’s likely that not one other 328 GTS was completed in this exact way. The 328 GTS is a mid-engine V8 two-seater sports car that designed by Italian automobile designer, Leonardo Fioravanti, while working for Italian car design firm and coachbuilder, Pininfarina. Ferrari produced both the 328 GTS (Gran Turismo Spider), which featured a targa top as shown here, and the 328 GTB (Gran Turismo Berlinetta), which had a fixed roof instead. Together, from 1985 until 1989, Ferrari produced approximately 7,412 examples of both variations, with much of the bodywork being built by hand by Italian automobile design and coachbuilding company, Carrozzeria Scaglietti. The 328 GTS and GTB serve as the successors to the Ferrari 308 GTB berlinetta and targa topped 308 GTS. The ‘328’ now referred to the cars total cubic engine capacity of 3.2L, and the 8-cylinder engine, which is a Tipo F105CB V8. Production numbers for the Ferrari 328 GTS alone are said to be approximately 6,068 total vehicles in the chassis number range of 59301 to 83136, which leaves this Ferrari model to be quite rare in comparison to a standard production car. The 328 is truly one of the most perfect combinations of value, aesthetics, performance, and reliability when it comes to Ferrari. A gorgeous anatomical Momo (Morreti-Monza) steering wheel is standard for the 328 model, but some interesting options included air conditioning, metallic paint, Pirelli P7 tires, a leather dashboard, and much more.
