2008 Ferrari F430 Challenge Car

2008 Ferrari F430 Challenge Car

Don’t let your eyes deceive you, while this might in fact be a 2008 Ferrari F430 Challenge Car (ZFFEX63X000165897), it’s actually gone through a road-legal conversion, making it believed to be one of the only F430 Challenge cars to have gone through this process in the United Kingdom. The F430 model was built until 2009 across numerous variants which include the standard base F430, the F430 Spider, the high-performance oriented F430 Scuderia, and the F430 Scuderia 16M Spider. Of the standard F430 examples that were produced, approximately 142 of them were transformed to become the production-based race car known as the Ferrari F430 Challenge. All F430 Challenge cars, including this one shown here, were originally built as ‘non road-legal’ extensively modified racing cars, which were designed for use in the single-marque motorsport championship known as the ‘Ferrari Challenge’. The Challenge program first ever began in 1993 with the Ferrari 348 Challenge car, and since then the series has introduced a wide variety of models including the Ferrari F355 Challenge (1995–2000), the Ferrari 360 Modena Challenge (2000–2006), the Ferrari F430 Challenge (2006–2011), the Ferrari 458 Challenge (2011–2013), the Ferrari 458 Challenge Evo (2014-2016), and currently the Ferrari 488 Challenge (2017–). The races are held worldwide, however, during the F430 Challenge-era, the number of championships reached an all-time high, with 3 in Europe, 1 in the US, and 1 in Japan. This example was originally sold to a Belgian authorised Ferrari dealer, and the car is shown here in it’s original white paint finish. While converted for road use, the car still retains it’s Ferrari-branded Sabelt bucket driver’s seat and also features a blue Sparco passenger seat. A few road-legal-mandatory options include the added handbrake, horn, and glass windscreen.
