1996 Fiat Barchetta Stola Dedica Prototipo

1996 Fiat Barchetta Stola Dedica Prototipo

This intriguing machine shown here still looks special to this day! This is the story of the 1996 Fiat Barchetta Stola Dedica Prototipo, which is a one-off vehicle produced by Gruppo Stola, a Turin-based Italian metallurgical and engineering company that was founded in 1919. The name, Dedica (Dedication) stems from the project being dedicated to Fiat’s founder, Giovanni Agnelli. The reason behind this connection, is because Stola shared a close relationship with the Fiat company, as it was one of the car manufacturers they worked with at the time. The Dedica was constructed on a Stola-developed Fiat Barchetta chassis, and was designed by the extremely talented and well-known designer, Aldo Brovarone, who worked with the famous design house Pininfarina until 1988. Brovarone, a good friend of Stola’s managing director, Alfredo Stola, created a unique design that resulted in a pure roadster with no roof option whatsoever. The Dedica was fitted with a number of unique options that far surpassed the original Fiat Barchetta base, which included larger Brembo vented discs with 4-pot callipers, a momo steering wheel, seats, gear knob, and pedals, and a set of Goodyear F1 Eagle tires. The wheels of the car were developed by Technomagnesio, and the turquoise-colored exterior was matched by turquoise leather all over the interior. By far, one of the most unique looking prototypes of all time, and one that deserves some more attention! Let us know what you think about the Stola Dedica Prototipo in the comments! Should they have produced more of these unique cars?
