2010 Jaguar C-X75

2010 Jaguar C-X75

This car is long overdue for this page, so let me introduce the 2010 Jaguar C-X75 hybrid-electric concept car. The C-X75 was produced by Jaguar Cars in partnership with Formula One team Williams F1, and was originally intended to be produced in 250 units. The story of this car begins with a man named Ian Callum, who is a British car designer responsible for the design of the C-X75. The car was created in 2010 to celebrate Jaguar’s 75th anniversary and represents the pinnacle of the brands design and engineering innovation. In May of 2011 Jaguar announced plans to put this car into production, however only one year later those plans were changed due to the ongoing global economic crisis. The chassis of the car was set to be made with carbon fiber to create a lightweight strong structure. After the cancellation of the project, the C-X75 still gave Jaguar the benefit of being able to develop future cars by using C-X75 technology. For example, the Jaguar F-Type carried over many design cues and technological features from the C-X75 concept. After it was realized that the C-X75 would not see production, the car would then see it’s day in the movie industry, making an appearance in the 2015 James Bond film ‘Spectre’ as Mr. Hinx's car (licensed ROMA 860K). On top of the original C-X75s from Jaguar, six total replicas were made for the film, however they were mechanically unrelated to the original car.

How many made? 11 total built. 5 produced from Jaguar and 6 produced by Williams Advanced Engineering for the 24th James Bond film
