Jaguar XJ220 'S/LM' Conversion

Jaguar XJ220 'S/LM' Conversion

This masterpiece of a machine shown here, which was developed by @mr.o.j.a and @xlusso, and was constructed by @donlawracing, a true 1 of 1, Jaguar XJ220 'S/LM' Conversion by Don Law Racing, painted in a one-of-a-kind green-color over a completely bespoke tan leather interior. The standard XJ220 model was produced under a subsidiary known as ‘JaguarSport’, and ever since the cars debut at the Birmingham Auto Show in 1988, it still remains to be one of the most intriguing cars to this day. The XJ220 was originally planned to used a V12 engine developed by Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR), however, once production began, the cars were equipped with a twin-turbocharged V6 instead. Ultimately, due to the change in the powertrain from concept to production, amongst a few other factors, only around 280 or so examples of the XJ220 were built and sold in the entire world. We’ve covered nearly every variant of the XJ220 model in great detail on @rarecarsonly, however, this car shown here is in a category of it’s own. While it might appear like a Jaguar XJ220 S, which was a performance-oriented variant of the XJ220, it’s actually not exactly that. As far as the “S” variant goes, TWR completed 9 total cars, but only 5 of those were made as road-going models. So that makes the XJ220 S, 1 of only 5 of its kind in the world. This car is one of several recreations of the XJ220 S/LM completed by Don Law Racing based in the United Kingdom, and is reportedly the only road-legal XJ220 fitted with a full Le Mans-style bonnet & intake setup. It’s also the only car to have had all of the race release hatches removed and to feature a custom hidden front clam release system. The car sits on a pair of OZ racing wheels from BBS, and features XJ220 S/LM-style bodywork.

How many made? Approximately 297 chassis were manufactured (291 known completed cars). This car is a 1 of 1.

Engine: the standard XJ220 is powered by a 3.5 L (3,498 cc) twin-turbocharged Jaguar JRV-6 V6 that produces 542hp. This car has received some mechanical enhancements from Don Law Racing.
