This is a 1999 Škoda Felicia Fun (Typ 796) which was built by Czech automobile manufacturer Škoda Auto between 1996 and 2000 as a limited, lifestyle-focused version of the Felicia pickup. Just 4,016 units were built in total, with only 100 examples officially allocated to the French market. Škoda Auto is one of the oldest car manufacturers in the world, with roots going back to the late 19th century. The company was officially established in 1925, when the industrial conglomerate Škoda Works took over the earlier automaker Laurin & Klement, which had been founded by Václav Laurin and Václav Klement in 1895 in what is now the Czech Republic. Based in Mladá Boleslav, Škoda began as a pioneer of European motoring, evolving from bicycles to motorcycles and then to automobiles. Over the decades, Škoda earned a reputation for building durable, practical, and well-engineered vehicles. The model made it’s big debut at the 1995 Geneva Motor Show and with its bold yellow color and playful name, this Škoda was clearly built for leisure, featuring a clever fold-out design that quickly turned it from a two-seater into a four-seater. Škoda’s quirky “party trick” transformed the FELICIA Fun from a two-seater into a four-seater with cleverly integrated fold-out rear seats, reducing the spruce-lined bed from 1,370 to 850 mm, but without sacrificing practicality.
