This magnificent car shown here is a 1984 Lamborghini Countach LP5000 S, a model that was styled by Italian coachbuilding and design company, Bertone. This example, DLA12555, represents 1 of just around 323 examples of the LP5000 S variant built from 1982 until 1985. Chassis DLA12555 was one of the most well-known right-hand-drive Lamborghini Countachs in the UK during the 1980s, uniquely ordered in pink and grey by a dentist named Geoff White to match his girlfriend’s sweatshirt. This UK-market car also featured a blue interior and a rear wing modification as well when it was originally built. Originally registered as LAM 207, the car was a regular sight at events until White traded it in for a Diablo and an NSX in 1993, after which the dealership repainted it white due to its unusual color scheme in order to sell the car to a future client. This was not the only Countach example to leave the factory in a pink shade, as an LP400 S was also finished in pink for a middle eastern client prior to this car being built. The Countach model was originally styled by the famous Bertone design company, with Italian designer, Marcello Gandini, who also was also involved in the design of the Miura and the Diablo, as the lead designer for this project. Since the introduction of the model, numerous variants were developed including the LP400, LP400 S (series 1, 2 and 3), LP5000S (shown here), the LP5000 QV, and the final iteration, the 25th Anniversario Edition (not including prototypes and special editions). The LP5000 S model in specific brought upon an enhanced, more powerful 4,754 cc (4.8 L) Lamborghini V12 engine, an updated interior, and a few other improvements in comparison to the earlier LP400 S offering.
