2005 Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster

2005 Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster

This is the 2005 Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster. The Murciélago is an extremely special car, as it was the successor of the very successful high-performance mid-engine Lamborghini Diablo, which was produced from 1990 until 2001. The Murciélago was designed by Peruvian-born Belgian designer, Luc Donckerwolke, who served as Lamborghini’s head of design from 1998 until 2005. This unmistakable and iconic supercar is not only just rare, but also features a combination of impressive performance, technology and design elements that create a one-of-a-kind experience that can’t be found anywhere else. Around 4,099 total units of the Murciélago were reportedly developed from 2001 until 2010 throughout multiple different variants including the original Murciélago Roadster & and Coupe, the LP640-4, the LP650-4, the LP670-SV, and a variety of special editions such as the Reventon and the Versace Edition. This particular example is a first-generation 2005 Roadster, finished in ‘Giallo Evros’ (yellow) over a black leather interior with yellow stitching. After the introduction of the coupe in 2001, a Roadster variant was introduced in 2003 at the Detroit Auto Show, and in comparison the coupe, now weighed about 65lbs heavier, but still kept similar performance.

How many made? 4,099 estimated total across all variants, estimated 899 total roadsters, and 234 produced in 2005.
