This incomparable and highly rare automobile shown here is known as the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador J, chassis number CLA00570, finished in ‘Rosso J’ over a ‘Nero’ CarbonSkin interior. The Aventador J is the only one of its kind in existence, a totally roofless and windowless barchetta, also known as a class of open-top, two-seat sports cars. This unique concept Lamborghini was shown to the public for the first time ever during the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, where it was shown powered by the same 690hp V12 engine found in the standard Aventador of the same generation. To achieve a total weight of just around 3,472lbs, the Aventador J is stripped of commonly found amenities such as air conditioning and even a radio, leaving nothing but a pure, exhilarating experience as one might imagine. The J was styled by Italian automobile designer, Filippo Perini, and the letter ‘J’ itself is a homage in a way to the one-off Lamborghini Miura Jota of the 1970s. The request for the J was given by CEO Stephan Winkelmann at the time to ‘build me something special’, and that the engineers did, trimming the J’s interior with an unprecedented material for the company at the time known as ‘CarbonSkin’. This LP700-4 Aventador was quickly sold during the time of it’s introduction for a reported $2,500,000+ dollars, and one can only assume that that price has since climbed drastically over the past 11 years. Thanks to all of the meticulous engineering and design work, the J is capable of a top speed of around 186mph with 0-60mph taking just around 2.8 seconds. Easily one of the most extreme bulls to ever leave the Lamborghini Automobili SpA factory, the J, and all of it’s carbon fiber elements and impressive technologies, is an entire road-legal package.
