2014 McLaren P1

2014 McLaren P1

Shown here is a stunning 2014 McLaren P1, car number 149 of just 375 road cars produced, finished in MSO ‘Graphite Grey’ with a ‘Slate Grey’ Alcantara interior! A truly unique specification overall! The P1 was first ever introduced in September of 2012 and was designed by both Robert Melville (McLaren’s current design director) & American/British automobile designer Frank Stephenson. Sales of the McLaren P1 began in 2013, and the model is considered one of the ‘holy trinity’ hypercars released around that time, alongside both the LaFerrari & Porsche 918 Spyder. The P1 is also considered to be a part of the very special ‘McLaren Ultimate Series’. The Ultimate Series for McLaren is their absolute top-tier lineup of low-production, high-performance hypercars which consists of (for now) the P1, the Senna, the Elva, and technically the 1 of 16 Sabre. No two P1 units were built identically, with customers being able to choose from a seemingly unlimited array of colors and specifications. Before actual production, reportedly, around 21 P1 prototypes were produced, 13 XP cars (experimental prototypes), 5 VP cars (validation prototypes), and 3 PP cars (pre-production units). The P1 also featured formula-1 derived features such as an Instant Power Assist System (IPAS) & a Drag Reduction System (DRS) which are both operated via buttons on the steering wheel. With it’s plug-in hybrid technology, out-of-this-world design, and menacing performance statistics, the P1 will be a forever-legend amongst the automotive industry. 1 of 375 for the world, not including the production of 58 P1 GTRs, 5 P1 LMs, and 1 P1 GT. One notable option included on this P1 is the gloss carbon fiber rear wing!
