One of my favorite McLaren’s of all time just so happens to be the 675LT and this example finished in ‘Napier Green’, is a quite special and rare color for the 675LT model overall. This 2016 McLaren 675LT Spider is 1 of just 500 total examples of this variation produced for the entire world. The 675LT model was introduced by McLaren at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show as a coupe-only model with a limited production run of just 500 units for the entire world. With the addition of a 675LT Spider at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, another 500 total examples were subsequently produced, making for 1000 total between both coupe and spider variants. The 675LT was introduced as a lightweight, track-focused evolution of the 650s model, and features a twin-turbocharged V-8 producing a menacing 666 horsepower. All of this power and performance allows the 675LT model to achieve a 0-60mph time of just about 3.0 seconds flat with a top speed of around 205mph. Although the 675LT is around 1.3 inches longer than the 650s, & features a larger rear and front splitter, it actually weighs around 220lbs less than the 650s, with a total weight of just 2,712lbs. In specific, during a reveal in December of 2015, the 675LT Spider was announced, sharing all of the same mechanics as the coupe model, but offers a slightly lower top speed at 203mph. All in all, the 675LT not only offers extreme performance, but also a good deal of rarity with it’s limited production nature. The ‘675’ model name refers to the power output of 675 PS, and the ‘LT’ derives from the 1997 McLaren F1 ‘Long Tail’, which was the final F1 road car built to comply with FIA homologation regulations for the 1997 F1 GTR.
How many made? McLaren only built 500 675LT Spiders, without counting special editions such as the Carbon Series.
