2019 McLaren Senna Can Am

2019 McLaren Senna Can Am

This is the ultra-rare ‘Heritage Orange’ 2019 McLaren Senna Can Am, chassis number SBM15ACA1KW900007. This is car number 1 of 4 total built, making it one of the most exclusive and rare McLaren models ever built. The Can-Am is essentially a Senna GTR mechanically, being that it uses the Senna GTR’s 814 horsepower twin-Turbocharged 4.0L V8. Both the Can-Am and Senna GTR make more power than the standard Senna which produces 789 horsepower. The GTR LM makes more power than all of the Senna variants with 833 horsepower. Other notable differences on the Can-Am compared to all other Senna variants are the Can-Am branded endplates for the spoiler, louvered fenders, Can-Am embroidered and logos all around the car, and a whole bunch of additional carbon fiber. The Can-Am celebrates the legendary Can-Am cars that dominated the series in the late 1960s and 1970s. The old McLaren Can-Am race cars were also responsible for the trademark hue known as ‘McLaren Orange’. The 2019 Can-Am is also a specific homage to the M8B, known as “the perfect race car”, that won all 11 races during the 1967 season with Bruce McLaren and Denny Hulme behind the wheel. The McLaren Senna in standard form (codenamed P15 Aina) was first introduced to the world in person at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. Other variants of the Senna were also produced over the years which include the Senna GTR, the Senna LM, and the Senna GTR LM, and the Senna Can Am & Senna XP and more including cars based on the Senna, such as the Sabre. The Senna was designed by English car designer and former Design Director at McLaren, Robert Melville. The car is named in honor of Brazilian F1 race driver, Ayrton Senna, to celebrate his 3 Formula One World Drivers' Championship titles and 35 Formula One Grand Prix race wins.

How many made? Only 4•Engine: 4.0L twin-Turbocharged V8 that produces an increased 814 horsepower.
