2004 Orca C113

2004 Orca C113

This is one of only a few built for the entire world, the absolutely majestic 2004 Orca C113. Orca Engineering was a sports car manufacturer and design studio located in Liechtenstein, which is a German-speaking microstate situated in the Alps southwest of Central Europe. Founded in 2003 by René Beck and his son Ralph, & the Orca 113 platform is what they were best known for. A total of 198 vehicles were planned to be produced under this platform between three different variants, but in total, only 7 were completed (3 C113s, 2 R113s, and 2 SC7s). Today we’re going to focus on the first concept manufactured on the 113 platform, the C113. At the time, the initial goal was to “build the fastest car in the world” to rival industry icons such as the Pagani Zonda, Ferrari Enzo, and Porsche Carrera GT. Production of the first Orca C113 began in 1987 and wasn’t completed until 2002. At the 2002 Geneva Motor Show Orca revealed a bright blue, fully-functional C113 coupe model. One of the C113’s highlighted features was the active suspension provided by ‘MAXTRAC’ which during tight maneuvers is capable of raising or lowering the ride height of the car. The angular design of the car was inspired by the F117 Stealth fighter plane. René & Ralph Beck were also inspired by, like it’s name suggests, the killer whale also known as the ‘Orca’. Orca then returned to Geneva again in 2005 with a second production-ready C113 this time finished in Orange and fitted with a new engine. A more powerful car with a similar design called the Orca ‘SC7’ was also built later on in just 2 total units. Truly a captivating design and also quite impressive performance characteristics as well! What do you think of this absolutely wild creation?
