2004 Peugeot 907 V12

2004 Peugeot 907 V12

DownloadThis is the one-of-a-kind car shown here is the 2004 Peugeot 907 V12, a two-seat coupé that masterfully harmonizes modern innovation with timeless elegance. Evoking the golden era of the great coachbuilders, this design vision realizes the enduring dream of housing a high-capacity engine within a classically inspired silhouette, making for an eloquent fusion of cutting-edge engineering and cherished automotive heritage. Conceived by styling director Gérard Welter in collaboration with designer Jean-Christophe Bolle-Reddat, the vehicle was envisioned as a symbolic tribute that marked the end of an era at Peugeot’s historic La Garenne design studio, which had served the marque for four decades, and the beginning of a new chapter with the inauguration of the state-of-the-art design facility in Vélizy. The car was first ever seen during the 2004 Paris Motor Show, boasting a 6.0-litre PSA V12 engine which is paired to a six-speed transaxle rear mounted automated manual transmission, as well as a carbon fiber monocoque chassis which delivers an optimal balance of minimal weight and exceptional structural rigidity, while the implementation of double-wishbone suspension at each corner ensures precise handling and elevated dynamic performance. A transparent panel in the elongated bonnet showcases the V12’s intake trumpets in homage to classic Italian exotics, while a sweeping glass canopy unifies the roof, windshield, and rear window into one fluid arc. Functional vents accent the front and rear flanks, a hidden rear spoiler emerges from the tail, and twin side-exit exhausts punctuate its sculpted silhouette. The 907’s interior fuses vintage elegance with advanced tech, pairing rich leather and Alcantara with wood detailing, digital-analog gauges, and a PC-driven central display.
