1967 Porsche 910-014

1967 Porsche 910-014

This is the extremely special 1967 Porsche 910-014 and it’s simply one of the most legendary Porsches of all time. The Porsche 910 was first entered for racing in mid 1966 starting with the hill climb from Sierre to Crans-Montana in Switzerland. From there, the 910 would go on to be raced by the factory for about 2 years, and quite successfully too. As for chassis 014, this car was raced from 1967-1974 and achieved the following results. Chassis 014’s first race was the 1967 Targo Florio where the car took 3rd place. Also in 1967, 014 was used as the 6 hours Brands Harch Test Car. Finally in 1967 014 raced in the Wills Trophy Croft finishing 2nd overall & 1st in class. The car would not be raced again until 1968 in the 6 hours Barcelona where it finished 2nd place. After a 6 year hiatus, in 1974, 014 would go on to compete an official Le Mans test session which was held in 4 sessions for a total of 600 minutes (3/23/74 & 3/24/74), 014 places 21st overall in these tests. Also on 3/23/74 chassis 014 participated in a Le Mans 4 hour test which consisted of a singular 180 minute long practice session where the car finished 14th overall. After rigorous testing, 014 would finally go on to race at the 1974 24 Hours of Le Mans where it ultimately did not finish the race. The car was then entered again into the 1975 24 Hours of Le Mans but did not attend the race. The Porsche 910 was considered the next sequence in the 906 line and was based on the Porsche 906 as well. The factory name for the Porsche 910 was 906/10 and overall the 910 was lighter and shorter than the 906. The engine used in chassis 014 is a 2.2L 6-cylinder producing 220 horsepower. A total of just 29 Porsche 910s were produced making it easily one of the most legendary Porsches of all time.
