1992 Porsche Carrera 2 Cabriolet

1992 Porsche Carrera 2 Cabriolet

This car shown here is @olliploeger’s very first Porsche, which he purchased back in 1993, and then quickly avalanched into one of the most impressive collection of Porsche cars (particularly of the 964 generation) that we know of today. This is a 1992 Porsche Carrera 2 Cabriolet finished in a striking, yet elegant shade known as Mint Green, which is only one of the shades in @olliploeger’s garage, as you’ll also find colors such as Riviera Blue, Ruby Star, Violet Blue Metallic, Yellow Green, Maritime Blue, Blossom Yellow, Continental Orange and others throughout his 964 collection. The Porsche 964 is the internal company name for all Porsche 911 models produced from 1989 to 1994. The 964 came in many different variants such as the Carrera 2, Carrera 4, Carrera RS, Speedster and more. Over the 5-year production run of the 964, Porsche reportedly built over 65,000+ total units across all variations, paving the way for the 964 to become one of Porsche’s most successful models at the time. This Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Cabriolet stands out as an exceptionally well-appointed example of the rare ‘Works Turbo Look’ specification. Combining the wide-body styling and upgraded suspension of the Turbo model with the pure, naturally aspirated driving dynamics of the Carrera, it delivers a truly engaging, analogue driving experience. With the added excitement of open-top motoring, this car offers a thrilling connection to the road, making it a coveted find for enthusiasts seeking both performance and authenticity. Beneath the curvy, attention-grabbing body sits a proper set of performance upgrades. It rides on Bilstein PSS10 coilovers for adjustable comfort and control, with Turbo Big Red brakes borrowed from the 964 3.6 Turbo or the 993 Twin Turbo providing serious stopping power.

How many made? In total, it’s believed approximately 642 USA examples, and 2,885 ROW examples of the C4 & C2 Cabriolet were developed for the entire world during the 1992 model year.
