1993 Porsche 968 Coupe

1993 Porsche 968 Coupe

Shown here is a gorgeous example of a 1993 Porsche 968 Coupe finished in the beautiful paint shade of ‘Guard’s Red’ over a black leather interior! The Porsche 968 model is increasingly becoming more and more desirable each and every day. Porsche built the 968 model from 1991 until 1995 across multiple variants, however, only a reported 12,776 total units were built for the entire world. Of that number, only a reported 4,665 examples were produced for the US/Canada market. Only a fraction of Porsche 968s were built in 1993, with even less of a percentage of those cars being Coupe examples like the one shown here. The 968 model is not only just rare, but it was also Porsche’s last front-engined vehicle of any kind whatsoever prior to the introduction of the mid-size luxury crossover Cayenne model in 2003. The 968 model was shown for the first time ever on September 12, 1991 during the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show press day after being designed by Dutch automobile designer, Harm Lagaay. This specific 968 example shown here is powered by the 3.0 L M44/12 16-valve I4, which was essentially an updated version of the engine found the the previous Porsche 944 model. This I4 makes around 237hp and allows the 968 to achieve a top speed of just about 157mph, with 0-60mph taking only around 6.5 seconds. The 968 is truly a spectacular combination of power, practically, and rarity, with this example shown here being very special thanks to it’s desirable options and stunning condition!
