Before we discuss the type-993 Carrera it’s important to note that the 911 model traces it’s roots all the way back to 1959, when a sketch was drawn by the grandson of Austrian-born automotive engineer and founder of the Porsche AG, Ferdinand Porsche, and son of Austrian-German technical automobile designer, Ferry Porsche, Ferdinand "Butzi" Porsche. The 911 model was designed and thought out to be a new and improved successor variant to the company’s first production automobile, the 356. The 911 eventually made it’s first ever public debut at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show, and the rest is history. From there, we’ve now how countless variations of the Porsche 911 model, some rare, some not so rare, unique colors, options, and the list goes on.
