2003 Porsche 911 Turbo

2003 Porsche 911 Turbo

This 2003 Porsche 911 Turbo is simply not your average specification, and it’s finished in a very unique and hardly seen color known as ‘Cobalt Blue Metallic’ over a full full black leather interior. This 911 Turbo is decked out with a number of unique options such as a cobalt blue metallic finish found on areas of the interior, wheel caps with colored Porsche Crest, an Aero front lip kit, and also, painted side skirts. During the debut of the 996, Porsche introduced one of the most drastic changes to the 911 models, and this was a water-cooled engine which then replaced the previously air-cooled engine. The turbocharged version of the 996 model debuted in September of 1999 during the Frankfurt Auto Show and subsequently entered the US market in the summer of 2000 as a 2001 model. The 996 Turbo is powered by a water-cooled twin-turbocharged and intercooled 3.6-litre flat-6 engine, and the US market models featured an electronically adjustable rear spoiler which can automatically rise at approximately 76mph, and retract at speeds lower than 36mph. The 996-generation’s design was created by automotive designer, Pinky Lai, under Porsche’s design chief Harm Lagaay from 1992 until 1994. The 996 carried over very little from the previous generation, and the Turbo model benefitted from the use of an impressive four-wheel-drive system, which when combined with the cars powerful engine, allows this model to achieve a 0-60mph time of just about 4.2 seconds.

How many made? Only around 4,322 Turbos were built in 2003, with an even lesser amount being painted in this unique color shown here!
