2000 Acura Integra Type R

2000 Acura Integra Type R

Here’s something you don’t see everyday, especially in the absolutely beautiful condition as seen here, a wonderful Phoenix Yellow (Y-56) 2000 Acura Integra Type R, 1 of approximately 1,350 units of the US Integra Type R built for the in the year 2000. The Honda Integra, which was marketed as the Acura Integra in North America, was originally built from the model years 1985 until 2006, and then resumed production under that name in 2021. Despite being built in a number of different variations, and across five total generations, it was the 1995–2001 Integra Type R that truly captivated collectors and enthusiasts around the world, and is widely considered as one of the greatest front-wheel drive automobiles of all time. In the year 1995, Honda introduced the Integra Type R to the Japanese domestic market, and was built under the third-generation of the Integra model (Series DB6-DB9, DC1-DC2, DC4). The performance and handling in comparison to the GS-R/Si/SiR-G Integra was substantially better on the Type R, and the model also received a strengthened chassis, lots of weight reduction, more power, high-compression pistons, a revised exhaust system, suspension upgrades, and much more. The Integra Type R was the only Type R ever sold in North America with an Acura badge, and the US market finally saw the model in the year 1997. From 1997 until 1998, US-spec Type Rs were exclusively available in ‘Champion White’, and from 2000 until 2001, the only available color options were Phoenix Yellow ('00-'01), Flamenco Black Pearl ('00) or Nighthawk Black Pearl ('01). The US Type R held a record for being the most power per liter car with a naturally aspirated piston engine, until it was later beaten out by the Honda S2000.
