What you’re looking at here is a 2008 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. With only 500 coupe examples built, 84 of those were US-specification cars such as this one, with this car wearing chassis no. 366. After around 3 years of developing and engineering the car, Alfa Romeo made headlines at the 2006 Paris Motor Show with the production version of the Alfa Romeo 8C. The name (8C) refers to the eight-cylinder engine used in the car (cilindro in Italian). Competizione, Italian for ‘Competition’, pays homage to Alfa Romeo’s racing pedigree. In 2007, Alfa Romeo received around 1,400 orders for the 8C, however, only 500 lucky customers ended up with an 8C Coupe like this one, and another 500 received the 8C Spider. With total production being just 1,000 units, it’s quite easy to tell the 8C is by far one of the most special models Alfa Romeo has ever produced. Designed by German automotive designer, Wolfgang Josef Egger, the 8C came offered in an array of different colors with the standard colors being Alfa Red or black. The original 8C raced from 1931 to 1934, & Alfa Romeo won the Le Mans 24-hour race four times in a row, with the first ever 8C. Built using an extensive amount of carbon fiber, the 8C is by far one of the most beautiful and best-performing machines Alfa Romeo has ever produced.
