2021 Aston Martin V12 Speedster

2021 Aston Martin V12 Speedster

This is a magnificent 2021 Aston Martin V12 Speedster, 1 of just 88 total examples that will ever be constructed for the entire world. This V12 Speedster might just be one of the best specifications of them all, an amalgamation of ‘Angary Purple’ paint with sleek silver accents and a white leather interior. The V12 Speedster model reminisces back to the Aston Martin DBR1 racing car of the 1950s, the 1953 DB3S, as well as the Aston Martin CC100 Speedster concept car of 2013. The common design theme amongst the 1959 Le Mans winning DBR1, the CC100, and the V12 Speedster is the open cockpit design which allows for the need of helmets while driving. On the V12 Speedster, the ‘pods’ behind the driver and passenger seats is where the helmets are stored. The V12 Speedster was revealed for the first time ever on March 4th of 2020 at Aston Martin’s Gaydon headquarters, where a V12 Speedster with a conceptual specification inspired by the Boeing F/A-18E and F/A-18F Super Hornet, derivatives of the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet, a supersonic multirole combat aircraft. More than merely just inspiration, the debut of the V12 Speedster was actually a collaboration between Aston Martin’s in-house bespoke division, ‘Q by Aston Martin’ and Boeing themselves. The V12 Speedster makes use of a 5.2L twin-turbocharged V12 engine which is paired to a a ZF 8-speed gearbox, allowing for a top speed of about 186mph. The V12 Speedster model was conceived from drawings to reality in just 12 months, with talented individuals such as Miles Nurnberger, the Director of Design at Aston Martin Lagonda and Matt Becker, a Chief Engineer at Aston Martin contributing their expertise towards the project. The V12 Speedster features a unique chassis using Aston Martin’s bonded aluminium architecture, with an independent double wishbone front, and multi-link rear suspension with coil springs and adaptive damping.
