1988 Cizeta-Moroder V16T

1988 Cizeta-Moroder V16T

This is the 1988 Cizeta-Moroder V16T, chassis 001, the very first, and original Cizeta-Moroder prototype and show car, which was owned from new by music producer and original Cizeta-Moroder investor, Giorgio Moroder. The Cizeta company consisted of a group of ex-Lamborghini employees, and the Cizeta V16T was the only product they ever made. Creation of this car can be credited to automotive engineer Claudio Zampolli in collaboration with music composer, Giorgio Moroder. The design was crafted & created by the famous Marcello Gandini, who was responsible for the design of the Lamborghini Miura, Countach, and the final version of the Diablo. In the 1980’s, Zampolli teamed up with Moroder to create one of the world’s most radical supercars, and in order to generate attention and grab headlines, it was decided that the car would be equipped with a 16-cylinder engine. A transverse-mounted 6.0-liter V-16 with a five-speed manual gearbox was the engine of choice, to which ‘The Father of Disco’, Giorogio Moroder would subsequently mix in his unique interests and ideas into the project as well. Due to frustrations over delays, Moroder and Zampolli’s partnership dissolved, leaving just the first prototype to be badged as a ‘Cizeta-Moroder’, and all of the subsequent cars to not include Moroder’s name. This fully-functional prototype was finished in ‘Pearl White’ over a red leather interior, and is equipped with several differences as opposed to the production version of the V16T which allow for this car to be fully unique in it’s own right. Some of these distinctions include significantly larger side air intakes, different turn signals and fog lamps, and a a completely unique interior which is almost entirely different from a production V16T.
