2002 DC Design Infidel

2002 DC Design Infidel

This is the distinctive and extremely rare 2002 DC Design Infidel, a concept car created by an Indian design firm known as DC Design. DC Design firm was founded in the year 1993 and was headed by a designer by the name of Dilip Chhabria. The company mainly focused on the production of custom special order vehicles, and unique luxury cars, however, the Infidel concept shown here is definitely something that is quite ‘out-of-this-world’ in terms of it’s theoretical technology and striking design. Easily one of DC Design’s most impressive builds, the Infidel was built based on a Toyota MR2, and was designed to incorporate a rear-wheel drive mid-engined layout. Despite their being little to no information about this vehicle made public, I can confirm the Infidel was used as a method of showcasing DC Design’s engineering and design capabilities. In order to accomplish this, the car was fitted with a number of notable features such as ultra low-profile 225/40 Dunlop Sport 9000 tires with 19 inch alloy wheels, an Alpina 4-spoke leather covered steering wheel, and a number of other impressive and eye-catching characteristics. Mr. Dilip Chhabria, who we mentioned before as the founder of one of India’s most renowned automotive design studios, is considered to be one of India’s best known car designers. Chhabria previously worked with General Motors before starting his very own venture. While the Infidel did reveal some considerably interesting technological elements and design cues, the car was unfortunately never put into production, therefore leaving only one example to be produced for the entire world, finished in a striking shade of green paintwork and shown for the first time in 2002 at the Geneva Motor Show.
