This is the 1995 Eagle Jazz Concept Car, a project by Eagle, which was a division of the Chrysler Corporation which was developed after they had acquired American Motors Corporation (AMC) in 1987 and continued to market the brand until the conclusion of the 1998 model year. The Eagle company, which officially was introduced in 1988, was structured to capture the attention of automotive enthusiasts and aimed to deliver a more “European” feel in comparison to their current lineup. Throughout the companies history, some production models did come to life such as the Eagle Wagon (1988), the, Eagle Medallion (1989), the Eagle Premier (1988–1992), and others. Also during Eagle’s time, a number of interesting concept cars were developed and shown over the years, one of them being this car shown here, known as the Jazz. The Jazz was put together in time for the 1995 auto show circuit, making its first stop and world debut at the 1995 Detroit Motor Show. The Eagle Jazz was a sleek, sporty sedan that stood out for its unique design, particularly its rounded hatchback-style rear. One of its most innovative features was a dual-function “hatch-within-a-hatch,” allowing drivers to open just a portion of the rear for quick access or the entire hatch for larger cargo. This practical yet futuristic concept drew comparisons to a 4-door version of the Eagle Talon, with some enthusiasts noting a striking resemblance in its styling and proportions. The Jazz showcased forward-thinking design elements that hinted at versatility and sportiness in equal measure. The Jazz was imagined to be a representation of Eagle’s future, and the working concept was believed to be equipped with a 2.5-litre V6 engine, double wishbone front suspension, and a rear independent multilink suspension. The Eagle Jazz’s interior catered primarily to rear-seat passengers with luxury features like an integrated video/CD player and individual climate controls.
