1966 Ferrari 365 P Berlinetta Speciale Tre Posti Guida Centrale

1966 Ferrari 365 P Berlinetta Speciale Tre Posti Guida Centrale

This is the 1966 Ferrari 365 P Berlinetta Speciale Tre Posti Guida Centrale by Pininfarina. This very special, 1 of 2 Ferrari wears Chassis 8815. This car is nicknamed “Tre Posti” for its driver-centered, three passenger cabin. Also commonly referred to as the Berlinetta Tre-Posti, this car specifcally is finished in a glamorous shade of ‘Argento’, over an interior filled with black leather and grey fabric. Originally, this particular car was commissioned by the wealthiest man in modern Italian history, Giovanni “Gianni” Agnelli, the famous Italian industrialist and former principal shareholder of Fiat. ‘Tre Posti’ was the result of a collaboration between Enzo Ferrari, Sergio Pininfarina, and Italian-born racecar driver Luigi Chinetti Sr. The 365 P ‘Tre Posti’ was also the first ever mid-engine 12-cylinder Ferrari designed to be used as a road car. Pininfarina made use of two 365/P2 chassis in order to carry out this unique project. The first car built was chassis number 8971, and this second chassis shown here was constructed for Fiat head, Gianni Agnelli, numbered 8815. The two cars differentiated from eachother slightly, but we’re mostly similar overall. Both of the ‘Tre Posti’ examples were designed by Italian automobile designer and previous chief stylist of Carrozzeria Pininfarina (1974-1988), Aldo Brovarone. ‘Tre Posti’ was first ever unveiled at the 53rd International Paris Motor Show as the key Pininfarina show car that year, and since then, the central seating configuration has been popularized greatly by the McLaren F1 of 1992-2000 (106 produced). This car was recently restored by @kidstonmotorcars/@ferrariservice_bonini and was subsequently unveiled at the @mautotorino.
