1989 Ferrari F40 Neuser Lightweight

1989 Ferrari F40 Neuser Lightweight

This car shown here is an unbelievably rare 1989 Ferrari F40 Neuser Lightweight, and being that only 3 examples were built this way for the world, it’s safe to say that @carspottingrv captured quite the rare machine here. With only approximately 1,315 examples produced from 1987 until 1992, the F40 is not only just a rare Ferrari, but also the very last Ferrari to ever be given full approval from Italian motor racing driver, and founder of the Ferrari company, Enzo Ferrari. As for this car shown here, this example was first ever supplied to Turin, Italy via Symbol Car SpA, ran at the time by famous Turinese Ferrari dealer Walter Bordese. Shorty after this, the car was then sold to Friedrich "Fritz" Neuser, who owned the racing team known as Scuderia Autohaus-Neuser Nürnberg, and also served as one of the best known German Ferrari dealers from 1979 until 2003. In the year 1993, this example received extensive ‘lightweight’ modifications, including polycarbonate Lexan sliding windows, a ‘Neuser Tubi’ exhaust system, a new rear wing, new wheels, and much more, all of which were applied under the supervision and collaboration between Assistenza Motor Service Ferrari and race car development, engineering and preparation company, Michelotto Engineering SpA. The GT-conversion kit was built in Padua, Italy by Michelotto, and this special F40 example has no catalytic converters and non-adjustable shocks. As the last model Enzo Ferrari himself ever played a role in, and a 40th anniversary celebration for the company, the F40 fills a special place in many automotive enthusiasts hearts as being one of the most iconic Ferraris to ever be built. The F40 was engineered by Italian mechanical engineer, Nicola Materazzi, and was designed by the very talented Italian stylist, Pietro Camardella for Italian coach building and design company Pininfarina under the supervision of the chief stylist with Carrozzeria Pininfarina (1974-1988), Aldo Brovarone.
