1989/1993 Ferrari Conciso by Michalak

1989/1993 Ferrari Conciso by Michalak

This is the unusual, one-off, 1989/1993 Ferrari Conciso by Michalak (ZFFWA20B000080962). The word “Conciso” in Italian means concise, which of course emphasizes the Ferrari Conciso’s minimalism and hyper weight-savings-focused design. The Conciso is based on a 1989 Ferrari 328 GTS chassis (80962) and was designed by Bernd Michalak, the Founder of Michalak Design, a German automotive design office in 1979. Michalak is a company that continues to offer bespoke & custom parts for all sorts of vehicles today. The 328 Conciso concept show car features a hand-made aluminum body which was constructed by Bacchelli & Villa, one of the most prestigious restoration shops in the world specializing in Ferrari. No doors were implemented into the design, and in order to enter the cockpit of the Conciso, you must step over the side, similarly to many race cars. The Conciso weights 1/3 less than its donor 328 GTS, close to a total 800 pounds less, making for 1,960 total lbs. Another fascinating design element on display here is the low-cut wrap-around windscreen, which of course means no roof whatsoever, ultimately calling for the usage of helmet holders integrated into the cabin. Inside the Conciso is a minimalistic interior made up of leather and Alcantara. This compelling one-off unicorn was given its open-road homologation status in the year 2014. The Conciso was awarded the second place Eurosign Design Award in January of 1994. Simply one of the most interesting Ferrari one-off projects ever to be created!
