1992 Ferrari F40

1992 Ferrari F40

The Ferrari F40 models were mostly painted in an identical shade of red from the factory known as ‘Rosso Ferrari’, however, being that unique colors do suit cars of this stature quite well, some owners have veered away from this tradition, painting their examples in some absolutely jaw-dropping colors, and this right here is one of those cars! This example shown here is a 1992 Ferrari F40, chassis ZFFGJ34B000094674, engine number 32024, and it’s been refinished in a wonderful blue shade that is known as ‘Azzurro Hyperion’. On top of just the color change, the car also features an interior trimmed in dark blue Alcantara. With only approximately 1,315 examples produced from 1987 until 1992, the F40 is not only just a rare Ferrari, but also the very last Ferrari to ever be given full approval from Italian motor racing driver, and founder of the Ferrari company, Enzo Ferrari. The F40 was engineered by Italian mechanical engineer, Nicola Materazzi, and was designed by the very talented Italian stylist, Pietro Camardella for Italian coach building and design company Pininfarina under the supervision of the chief stylist with Carrozzeria Pininfarina (1974-1988), Aldo Brovarone. When the F40 model was shown to the public during the 1987 Frankfurt Motor Show, a production run of just 400 examples was the initial plan, but due to demand, this number of course increased significantly. When the F40 first arrived, it quickly became Ferrari’s most expensive, fastest, and most powerful model available for sale. Some of the F40 development such as the bodywork was handled by outside companies including the very well-known Michelotto Automobili (in Padua). This example is said to be one of the very last F40 examples built, and it was first ever registered on the 6th August, 1992.
