1995 Ferrari 456 GT Venice Estate

1995 Ferrari 456 GT Venice Estate

This is the 1995 Ferrari 456 GT Venice Estate (103190), and it’s 1 of just 7 examples that were built total in the world, 6 being for Prince Jefri Bolkiah, a member of the Brunei Royal Family. In the mid 1990s, the royal family of Brunei decided that they’d like to have a four-door wagon variation of Ferrari’s Ferrari 456 (Type F116) model. One company was more than willing to take on the project, the Italian coachbuilding and design firm, Pininfarina. Prince Jefri commissioned Pininfarina to build him a small number of these shooting-brake type 456 GT cars at a cost of approximately $1,500,000 each, and all together just 7 examples were built. Of the 7 total cars, only 6 examples were purchased by the royal family of Brunei, leaving one car, the one pictured here, to be acquired by a private car collector in the United Kingdom. Originally this car was finished in a Forest Green color that was complimented by a green leather interior. At some point, 103190 was repainted to the silver color shown here (Argento Nurburgring), was fitted with a beige leather interior, and was also converted from having a manual transmission originally to now having an automatic. At least 6 of the 456 GT Venice Estate cars are believed to have been delivered to Brunei at one point including the black example (???), a Rosso Corsa example with red leather (104368), a silver example (104397), a grey example (104777), a green example (???), and finally a yellow example with red leather (103380). This car shown here, believed to have evaded the massive multi-warehouse collection in Brunei, is the only car of the 7 built to feature standard rims from the 456 coupe, as well as the only one to feature the rear window wiper arm on the left side instead of the right side. Pininfarina added their touch with a roof extension as well as rear doors and other interesting design altercations. The original design of the 456 was penned by Italian designer Pietro Camardella under the direction of Lorenzo Ramaciotti for Pininfarina.
