2016 Ferrari FXX-K EVO

2016 Ferrari FXX-K EVO

This is the 2016 Ferrari FXX-K EVO, vin 216799, car number 98 finished in ‘Nero DS Opaco’ over a nero Alcantara interior. The Ferrari FXX-K was designed by Italian engineer Marco Fainello, architect Samuel Rodriguez and Adrián Méndez, Marco Fainello and Samuel Rodriguez alongside the rest of the Ferrari Styling Centre team, headed by Senior Vice President of Design Flavio Manzoni, the FXX K is Ferrari’s track day-only variation of the highly desirable LaFerrari sports car. Using the underpinnings of the street-legal LaFerrari, the FXX-K is a successor model to Ferrari’s previous track-only offerings such as the Ferrari FXX and 599XX and their ‘EVO’ counterparts. First ever revealed to the public at the Yas Marina Circuit in late 2014, the FXX-K serves as a research and development vehicle intended to provide customers lucky enough to own one with a one-of-a-kind driving experience. The ‘K’ in FXX-K signals the car’s highly advanced kinetic energy recovery system (KERS). The FXX-K also comes along with an invite to Ferrari’s Client Test Driver program which allows XX car owners to drive at special tracks in order to help collect data for use in Ferrari’s future projects. This car shown here is not simply just an FXX-K, but it’s an FXX-K Evoluzione, or ‘EVO’ for short, a new aerodynamic package that was introduced by Ferrari during the Ferrari Finali Mondiali 2017 in October of that year at Stazione Leopolda in Florence during the Ferrari 70th Anniversary celebration. The EVO variant produces 23% more downforce than the standard FXX-K and 75% more than the road-legal LaFerrari and features loads of exterior modifications such as a larger rear wing and underbody diffusers, with the changes resulting in a drop in weight from the FXX-K of around 198lbs.
