2019 Ferrari P80/C

2019 Ferrari P80/C

At the special request of a customer, Ferrari built this incredible car shown here captured by the talented @pablorivasbao, the 2019 Ferrari P80/C, a one-off supercar that was constructed by the Ferrari Special Projects (SP) Programme using the base of a 488 GT3 race car. This is the official 1:1 scale mock-up located in the Ferrari Museum. The P80/C is simply as wild as a Ferrari can possibly get, featuring sports prototype-inspired bodywork, the lack of headlights and taillights, a massive removable rear wing, and aerodynamically focused body elements such as the front splitter, and massive side air intakes which allow for satisfactory engine cooling. The P80/C was first ever commissioned in 2015, and is said to be one of Ferrari’s longest one-off projects. During the development of the P80/C the team had the freedom to ignore production vehicle requirements due to this car not being road-legal, and therefore resulting in numerous track-focused elements to be implemented on this car such a body made entirely out of carbon fiber painted in a color known as ‘Rosso Vero’, an extended wheelbase (50mm over the 488 GTB), and the removable of essentially almost the entire rear bodywork of the car. The design cues from iconic cars such as the 330 P3/P4 and the 1966 Dino 206 S were implemented by Flavio Manzoni and the engineering and aerodynamics team at the Ferrari Styling Center on the P80/C, and the result is one of the most intriguing Ferrari one-off models of all time. Underneath the hood of the P80/C is a menacing tuned version of the 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine found in the 488 GT3 now making 580hp. The P80/C was internally given the codename of ‘Special Project 36’ due to this being the Ferrari companies 36th special project car. The interior offers carbon-fiber seats are clad in blue Alcantara with almost no comfort or luxury features whatsoever, nothing but bare carbon fiber, buttons, switches and screens everywhere you look!
