2000 Fioravanti F100R

2000 Fioravanti F100R

This is the mesmerizing 2000 Fioravanti F100R concept, a design study that, even over two decades after its debut, still radiates futuristic energy and visionary thinking. The car was penned by none other than Leonardo Fioravanti, founder and CEO of Fioravanti Srl., and a legend in the automotive design world. Fioravanti spent 24 years with the famed design house Pininfarina, joining their team as a stylist in 1964 at the young age of 26. His career trajectory was swift and impactful as he eventually rose to the position of deputy general manager at Ferrari, playing a significant role in the development of some of the most iconic cars in the company’s history. Among his credited works are the legendary Ferrari 288 GTO, the 512 BB, and the 365 GTB/4 Daytona, vehicles that still define Italian performance styling. After parting ways with Ferrari and Pininfarina, Fioravanti took a bold step and established his own design firm, Fioravanti Srl., in 1991. The studio quickly made waves in the automotive world. One of its most significant early projects was the 1998 F100 concept, created to celebrate the centenary of Enzo Ferrari’s birth. Just two years later, the F100R followed, which was a roadster interpretation that built upon the original coupe’s DNA while introducing its own dramatic flair. The F100R’s design is characterized by unique and striking elements, such as a multispherical windscreen, a sleek rear fairing behind the passengers that integrates engine cooling vents, and an elegantly packaged helmet storage compartment. Designed in collaboration with Cecomp Spa, who also helped develop the original F100 coupe, the F100R carries forward the essence of its predecessor while embracing a more open, dynamic character. The roadster maintained the original’s captivating interior language and added a new sense of lightness and fluidity.
