This monster-sized vehicle shown here is a blacked-out 2003 Hummer H1 Open Top, finished in black with a custom interior consisting of black leather and diamond stitched alcantara inserts with green stitching. Based off of the original M998 ‘High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle’, or HMMWV (Humvee), the Hummer H1 model was produced by American heavy vehicle and contract automotive manufacturer, AM General starting in 1992 and ending 2006. This marked the very first variant to the ‘Hummer’ line-up, and originally this model was designed to meet U.S. military specifications that were first issued in 1979. Following the military-based Hummer H1 model, two further iterations of the Hummer were constructed over the years, consisting of the Hummer H2, and Hummer H3 models, which are built based upon smaller, civilian-market GM platforms, and are much more practical, civilized vehicles, in comparison to the rugged H1. Three major variations of the Hummer H1 were made available starting in March of 1992, including a convertible-like soft top, a four-door hard top Sport Utility Truck and an ‘Alpha Wagon’ variation. Lesser known variations were also built, but a majority of Hummer H1 examples were equipped with 1 of 5 different choices of engines, including the 6.2 L GM Diesel V8/GM TH400, 6.5 L GM Diesel V8/GM 4L80-E, the 5.7 L (350 ci) L05 gasoline V8 TBI/GM 4L80-E, the 6.5 L turbo GM Diesel V8/GM 4L80-E, and finally the 6.6 L turbo Duramax LLY V8 turbo Diesel/Allison 1000 5-speed. This particular example shown here is powered by the 6.5L Turbo Diesel V8 with 195 horsepower, and the car sits on a set of black Method wheels. Believe it or not, this Hummer H1 is said to be 1 of just 494 total examples produced for the 2003 model year, making it not only just an awesome looking truck, but also quite a rare one as well. Other unique features equipped on this H1 example include a Kenwood Excelon stereo system, a CB Radio, spare tire, winch, alarm, Tekonsha P3 brake controller and a black soft top roof.
