2013 Koenigsegg Agera R ‘Zijin’

2013 Koenigsegg Agera R ‘Zijin’

This is the one-of-a-kind 2013 Koenigsegg Agera R ‘Zijin’, chassis number 007094, a completely bespoke creation that was developed for a Chinese customer, resulting in possibly one of the best specifications ever created for the model. The word ‘Zijin’ or 紫金 in Chinese translates directly to ‘purple gold’, and upon closer inspection, you’ll find that not only is the exterior dressed with gold and carbon fiber accents, deep royal purple paint, and other unique elements, but the interior is also built to match the elegance of the external areas of the car as well. On the inside of the Zijin, you’ll find purple leather seats with metallic gold accents, and a main console control unit made completely out of 100% solid gold. The design for the Agera model, and all of it’s variants, is credited to the founder and CEO of Koenigsegg Automotive, Christian Von Koenigsegg, and the model officially serves as the successor to the CCX/CCXR. The name, ‘Agera’ derived from the Swedish verb 'agera' which means ‘to act’ or in imperative form ‘(You) act!’. Since the model’s introduction, a myriad of different variants based upon the Agera’s platform have been created, consisting of the standard Agera, the Agera R (2011-2014), the Agera S (2013–2014), the One:1 (2014–2015), the Agera RS (2015–2018), the Agera Final Edition (2016–2018), as well as a number of special editions and one-offs such as the Agera X, and the Agera S Hundra. As for the Agera R model in specific, this variation made its first official public appearance in March of 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show. Worth noting, in September of 2011, the Agera R broke six world land speed records for a production car. The 2013 version of the Agera R was showcased at the 2012 Geneva Auto Show, where upgrades such as enhanced aerodynamics, new carbon fiber wheels, and various engine improvements attracted crowds from far and wide.
