2019 Koenigsegg Regera

2019 Koenigsegg Regera

This unbelievably rare machine shown here is the beautiful 2019 Koenigsegg Regera (7222). This particular example features an lovely interior consisting of Saddle Brown leather and brown stitching, which is complemented smoothly by the green carbon fiber exposed exterior. One of the most technologically advanced, and mechanically unprecedented cars to ever be constructed, the Koenigsegg Regera is a limited production, plug-in hybrid grand touring sports car which was developed by Swedish manufacturer of high-performance sports cars, Koenigsegg Automotive AB from March of 2016 until 2022 with a planned production of just 80 total units for the world, 71 left-hand drive examples and 9 were right-hand drive. It is said that the total production of the Regera actually amounted to 84 total units, and the car was first officially shown to the world during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The name ‘Regera’ is a reference to the Swedish verb which means ‘to reign’ or ‘to rule’. The car’s design is credited to automotive engineer and founder/CEO of Koenigsegg, Christian Von Koenigsegg, as well as designer, Joachim Nordwall. As an alternative to Koenigsegg’s lineup of visceral hypercars, the Regera serves as a more luxury-focused model, however, it still is one of the world’s fastest accelerating and most powerful hybrid production vehicles ever to be produced. The Regera features a targa top with a detachable roof, and was the first ever hybrid vehicle to be produced by koenigsegg. One of the most special features found on the Regera is Christian Von Koenigsegg’s ‘Koenigsegg Direct-Drive System (KDD)’. Instead of a multi-gear transmission system which is found in practically every car, the Regera uses a single-speed fixed-gear transmission, which is paired to the car’s hybrid powertrain.
