This wonderful automobile shown here is known as the 2022 Koenigsegg CC850, and it may just be one of the most awesome vehicles that Swedish manufacturer of high-performance sports cars, Koenigsegg has ever produced. This model was built to celebrate both the founder of Koenigsegg, Christian Von Koenigsegg’s 50th birthday, and also to acknowledge the 20 year mark since the creation of Koenigsegg’s model known as the CC8S. The CC8S was the Koenigsegg company’s first ever production car, and of course, the first production car to ever use Koenigsegg’s trademarked dihedral synchro-helix actuation doors. Beyond just being the first of many different categories, the CC8S also was the recipient of a Guinsess World Record ‘the Most Powerful Production Engine’. In total, just 6 examples of the CC8S were produced from 2002 until 2003, but the model is ultimately worthy of having a modern day reinterpretation dedicated to it’s success and originality. The CC850 (shown here), is Koenigsegg’s latest model, and it was first shown to the public yesterday, August 19th, 2022 at the The Quail Motorsport Gathering in California. One of the most unique and notable features of the CC850 is the highly advanced ‘Engage Shift System’, which is a world-first that allows the driver to select between either an adaptive, clutched manual transmission with six forward gears, that also includes two different driver-selectable gear ratios, or a smooth and seamless nine-speed automatic transmission system. Koenigsegg states that this transmission system used in the CC850 is the ‘world’s first manual that can change gear ratios for numerous driving settings. The interior is just as unique as the exterior and boast a 3-pod instrument cluster, a central touchscreen, and of course the H-pattern shifter which operates the cars ‘manualized Lightspeed transmission’.
