1995 Lamborghini Diablo VT-R

1995 Lamborghini Diablo VT-R

With all the hype surrounding Lamborghini’s latest model, the updated Countach, which is set to release in the near future, I think it’s a great time to discuss another very interesting Lamborghini project that is a perfect representation of Lamborghini‘s history of modifying their already fantastic platforms. This is the unbelievably rare, 1 of 3 (Red, Orange, Yellow), 1995 Lamborghini Diablo VT-R (believed to be ZA9DE07A0SLA12395), and if you’ve never heard of this Lamborghini model before, we’ll explain all there is to know! As you may or may not already know, Automobili Lamborghini is quite famous for creating limited-production variants of their high-performance supercars. The visceral-looking yellow VT-R variant shown here is one of just 3 total examples modified by the Lamborghini factory themselves to have a number of upgrades and enhancements. The VT-Rs began life as a standard VT, until the engineers at Lamborghini quipped the cars with custom bodywork, a modified powertrain, and a number of other new design elements simply never before seen on the standard Diablo VT. This specific VT-R is said to be the only one of the three cars produced in right-hand drive, and received VT roadster wheels, and a number of SE30 parts scattered around the car as part of it’s transition into a VT-R. All three VT-Rs appeared a bit different, with the red example featuring a ‘normal’ wing as opposed to an SE30 wing, and the orange car featuring a matte black SVR-style racing wing. Another added option by the owner of this car was to have the factory include an air-lift suspension system which was borrowed from a VT Roadster, which allows for some ease when going over bumps or curbs. Reportedly this exact car shown here has traveled about 2,174miles around Europe where it reached speeds close to 200mph! Overall, easily one of the rarest and most forgotten factory variants of the Lamborghini Diablo! What do you think of the Diablo VT-R?
