Today we’re going to be discussing perhaps one of the most special Lamborghini’s ever produced, and also one of the best to ever grace this page. This is @lamborghini_maddog’s unbelievable 1998 Lamborghini Diablo SV, however, this Diablo SV differentiates itself from all other Diablo SVs produced by way of it’s one of one ‘Yellow-Bleu 3CT’ paintwork which was reportedly factory painted on this particular example by Lamborghini to make a splash during the 1998 Birmingham Motor Show. Before we discuss this special example, let’s first dive right into the Diablo SV model as a whole. The SV (Sport Veloce) was launched in 1995 at the Geneva Motor Show, and featured a number of exterior and mechanical enhancements over it’s predecessor models. Despite it’s power improvements, the Diablo SV quickly became Lamborghini’s entry model, and by entry, meaning the least expensive in the series of Diablo variants available at the time. Most Diablo SV examples were given a large ‘SV’ logo on the doors, however, the client could also request the factory to leave the panels alone, which is an example of what we have shown here. The Diablo SV also came standard with an adjustable rear wing, and larger breaks. As for this specific example, you are looking at a true one-off. As the story goes, this example was originally painted yellow, until the Sant’Agata factory applied this never-before-seen ‘yellowish-blue’ shade in order to generate excitement at the 1998 Birmingham Motor Show. The original owner not only purchased this example, but also the rights to the color, ensuring that this example remains a true one-off and part of Lamborghini’s history. Other unique factory options for this car include SE side skirts, a carbon-fiber gear lever, a more vocal stainless steel exhaust system and a two-tone Alcantara interior, making this one truly rare machine!
