Seen at the wonderful @thebridge.hamptons event, this is an incredible 2001 Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 VT. The Diablo was produced by Lamborghini from 1990-2001 (2,884 produced), and it’s famously known as being the first production Lamborghini to hit 200mph (buy one now before it’s too late). The name Diablo means “Devil” in Spanish, and that suits this 2001 Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 VT’s (chassis 12757) bright orange ‘Arancio Atlas paint over a ‘Bianco Polar’ leather interior with blue piping, carpets, and stitching. The Diablo was first 200+mph production Lamborghini, and was built to replace the Countach model. In its earliest stages of development in 1985 it was known as ‘Project 132’ by the Lamborghini factory. The Diablo was named after a famous fighting bull raised by the Duke of Veragua in the 19th century. The Diablo was first shown to public in 1990 on the 21st of January in Monte Carlo. The Diablo was better equipped all-around than the previous Countach model, and even more so the Diablo VT variant in specific. Improvements of the VT (standing for vicious traction) included new front air intakes below the driving lamps to improve brake cooling, four-piston brake calipers, power steering, and other minor engine refinements. In particular, the Diablo VT 6.0 model (shown here) was the result of Audi’s takeover of the Lamborghini company in 1998, and in doing so, the company tasked former Lamborghini chief designer Luc Donckerwolke to create a refined Diablo to bridge the gap of time between the earlier Diablo models, and the upcoming Murciélago model. The VT 6.0 was only developed in approximately 337 units from 2000-2001 and features a revised front fascia, new aerodynamic bits and bodywork, a refined interior with improved air-conditioning, and much more. Notably, the biggest difference between the 6.0 and the earlier models was the newly added 549hp 6.0L Lamborghini V12. The 6.0 VT was only available in Coupè body style. \
