This beautiful car shown here is a personal favorite for us in the world of Lamborghini, the 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera (LA06783), one of the companies best-known and yet, highly underrated models of all time. This example is finished in a beautiful shade of ‘Arancio Borealis’, and represents 1 of just 618 examples of it’s kind believed to be built, of which just 172 were delivered to the United States. The Gallardo was one of the companies best ever selling offerings ever, with approximately 14,022 total examples built across all model years and variations. The initial styling for the Gallardo model was created by the son of Italian automotive designer, Giorgetto Giugiaro, Fabrizio Giugiaro. The final design for the Gallardo model was penned by Belgian automotive designer, Luc Donckerwolke, and the mid-cycle refresh design was handled by Italian car designer, Walter de Silva. The Gallardo model was broken up between two major generations, the first generation of 2003-2008, and the second generation of 2008-2013. The entire basis of the Gallardo model was designed from the original 1995 Calà prototype vehicle which was designed by Italdesign Giugiaro. The Spyder variation of the Gallardo was first ever debuted at the 2006 Los Angeles Auto Show, and at that time, Lamborghini considered the Gallardo Spyder to be essentially a brand new model. In terms of the Superleggera model in specific, this limited-production, special variant of the Gallardo features numerous differences from a ‘standard’ car. The Superleggera was announced at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show and is 100kg (220lbs) lighter than the base model, thanks to carbon fiber components and titanium wheel nuts. The engine power is increased by 10 PS (9.8 horsepower) to 530 PS (523 horsepower). Production was limited to 618 units, with the 6-speed E-Gear transmission standard and a manual option available for US models. This car was seen at the prestigious @thebridge.hamptons event!
