This is the 2010 Lamborghini Reventón LP670-4 Roadster (chassis ALA04014), 1 of a total of 16 examples that were produced for the world, and currently, the only one residing in the United States, where it was previously part of a display that took place at the, @audrainautomuseum. This example was lent to the museum by none other than the Ralph Lauren Automobile Collection, which is the automobile collection of American fashion designer, philanthropist, and billionaire businessman, who is best known for being the founder of the global multibillion-dollar enterprise, Ralph Lauren Corporation in the year 1967. The Roadster variant of the Reventòn is an evolution of the mid-engine limited production Reventòn coupe that was first ever shown at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show. Lamborghini only developed 16 Roadsters, and 21 Coupes (prototypes included), and each car is stamped with it’s own number sequence. The unique looking styling takes inspiration from modern aeronautics and the fastest and most agile aircrafts in the world, such as the F-22 Raptor jet. The body of the car is constructed using carbon fiber composites and features an engine hood made of glass laminate that gives a glimpse of the monstrous V12 that powers this rare Italian machine. The word ‘Reventòn’ also translates to ‘small burst’, or ‘small explosion’ in Spanish. On the interior, you’ll find a combo of black leather and black Alcantara, as well as an aircraft-inspired cockpit featuring three thin-film-transistor liquid-crystal displays (TFT LCD). The design of the Reventòn helped to create a basis for the companies next flagship V12 model, the Aventador. Although similar to the Coupè, specific to the Roadster variant of the Reventòn is the use of the engine found in the Murciélago LP 670–4 Super Veloce, which is a 6.5 L Lamborghini V12 that produces 20 more horsepower than it’s coupe counterpart at around 661hp.
