With an extensive and impressive history of custom coach-building spanning hundreds if not thousands of different designs, it’s easy to overlook some of Zagato’s creations, and this 2016 Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato, photographed by @yi450_photography near Nijō Castle in Japan, might just be one of those rare gems that has slipped your memory. Lamborghini, renowned for a lineage of one-off and limited-production models such as the Centenario, Veneno, Aventador J, and more, added to this illustrious list with the Lamborghini 5-95 by Zagato. Based on the LP570-4 Gallardo Superleggera, the 5-95 retains all the same mechanical components. However, the Zagato-designed air scoops, spoilers, distinctive taillights, and many other bespoke design features—such as the iconic “double bubble” roof—set it apart. The name “5-95” commemorates Zagato’s 95th anniversary, marking this special collaboration with Lamborghini, and what a splendid choice it was. With only a small number of these cars in existence, ownership is reserved for a fortunate few who are bound to enjoy and preserve them for generations. This particular 5-95 boasts a striking dark green exterior accented with sleek black details throughout. The coupe first dazzled the public at the 2014 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, and by 2018, Zagato introduced the Roadster variant. Between both models, around 10 cars are believed to have been produced.
How many made? Around 5 coupes are believed to have been built for this model.
Engine: The powertrain remains unchanged from the Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera, featuring a 5.2L V10 engine delivering approximately 562hp.
Debut: The 5-95 officially debuted in May 2014 at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
Top speed: Likely mirrors the Superleggera, around 202mph.
0-60mph: Expected to match the Superleggera’s 0-60mph time of 3.2 to 3.4 seconds.
