2022 Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4

2022 Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4

The original Lamborghini Countach model which was developed across a wide variety of variations from 1974 until 1990 with just around 1,983 examples produced is arguably one of the greatest sports cars to have ever been created. It was a result of the talented work of the Italian industrial design company, Bertone, with contributions from a number of legendary automotive designers including Italian car designer, Marcello Gandini, Italian mechanical engineer and automotive designer, Paolo Stanzani, and founder of Pagani Automobili S.p.A., Horacio Pagani. The name ‘Countach’ first ever appeared at the the 1971 Geneva Motor Show, as the Lamborghini Countach LP500 concept car, and this car shown here, is a modernized interpretation of the original Countach model. This is the 2022 Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 (Chassis Number ZHWUA9ZD3NLA11454), finished in a color known as ‘Verde Themis’. This modern Countach model is based on the first hybrid production Lamborghini ever made, known as the Lamborghini Sián, and was first ever revealed on August 14th of 2021. Just 112 total examples are planned for production, and the new Countach was styled by German designer and engineer, Mitja Borkert. The mechanical components of the Countach are directly shared with the Sián, which includes the carbon-fiber monocoque, as well as the same powertrain, a combination of a naturally-aspirated 6.5L V12 engine (770hp), and a 48-volt electric motor which develops an additional 34hp. This makes for a combined total power output of 803hp, which is sent through a 7-speed automated manual transmission. The new Countach features a energy recovery mechanism known as regenerative braking, which stores energy into a high-capacity capacitor known as a supercapacitor, which is said to be lighter than using a traditional lithium-ion battery. This particular car is believed to be residing in Chicago, IL, USA.
